Spotlight · Citizenship by descent
Recent changes to Canada’s citizenship law have extended citizenship by descent to many people born outside Canada to a Canadian parent, including some who were previously excluded by the first-generation limit. You may already be a citizen and need only a citizenship certificate to prove it.
Find out if you’re already Canadian through a parent, and apply for proof of citizenship.
Documentation and lineage evidence prepared for your proof-of-citizenship application.

My first interaction with Osaro was when I travelled and realised, too late, that a study permit and a TRV are two separate documents. Unfortunately, my TRV had expired, leaving me stuck during the holidays. In our first consultation, Osaro guided me through the necessary documents for my visa renewal and, just as importantly, helped me stay calm during a stressful time as I worried about missing school.
A few months later, I had another consultation with her to discuss my PR pathway options. She walked me through all the possibilities and continued to check in on me, especially after one of the pathways was canceled.
When I finally received my ITA, retaining her services for the submission process was an easy decision, as she had been involved in my journey from the start. Osaro was incredibly hands-on, patient, and thorough throughout the process. Now that my PR has been approved, I’m beyond grateful for her support. If I ever need assistance with Canadian immigration again, I’ll definitely be reaching out to her and recommending her to everyone I know!

I can’t thank enough the GLC Immigration Consulting Agency, especially the CEO, Osaro Ezomo for her tremendous efforts towards getting my Canadian student visa. At first I was refused the visa which was quite disheartening but she made it possible for it to be overturned just in few days. I got my student visa approved in about 5weeks. That’s really incredible and fast. All thanks to her for the invaluable support which now has placed me on my Canadian journey. I’ll forever be thankful for her assistance.

Osaro Ezomo, RCIC
Principal Consultant
Osaro is the principal consultant and immigration strategist at GradLifeCanada Immigration Consulting, and she knows this journey first-hand. She came to Canada in 2012 to study at Royal Roads University, moved from a post-graduation work permit to permanent residence, and became a Canadian citizen in 2019.
After years of supporting students through admissions, she saw how much applicants needed complete, end-to-end support. Today she builds simple, applicant-centred processes around each client’s specific needs, and she is there every step of the way. One milestone at a time.
